Update and New Prayer Requests

It has been awhile since I've been able to update how the children are doing in adjusting to school.

Anne is doing so much better with her math as well as her other classes.  She is gaining more confidence in her work as well.

Adia is absolutely thriving!  She is definitely the social bug in the family.  She is doing so much better with her reading and does not seem to indicate at this point that dyslexia is a concern.  She is keeping up with the rest of the class with her reading and her teacher feels like phonics is one of her stronger areas.  She also enjoys answering questions in class.  Having her repeat first grade was definitely a wise decision, even though it was a tough decision to make emotionally.

Jonathan, is now one that we might need some extra help with.  His teacher noticed that he was having some trouble pronouncing certain words and sounds.  So Jonathan was evaluated by a speech therapist, who does feel that the issues need to be addressed.  While we wait to meet with the speech therapist, we have made an appointment with an audiologist on Thursday.  We are wanting to get his hearing checked to see if there is any connection between that and his trouble with certain sounds.

The kids' teachers are all amazing and we are so thankful for them and all the hard work they put into teaching our kids each day! I am also thankful that they are top of things and notice when things don't seem quite right.

This Friday, our foreign exchange student will be moving to another host home.  She will be moving closer to the school so that it will be easier for her to participate in the various sports activities. Please be in prayer for our family as we adjust back to "normal", as well as for Inyoung as she adjusts to a new host family.

Lastly, the past couple of months have been very straining financially for our family.  We knew that sending our children to Christian school would cause us to have to pinch our budget, but we didn't count on Skeeter's work schedule changing so quickly after God lead us in this direction, not to mention our willingness to host an exchange student.  Skeeter's work cut out his over time, as well as shut down the plant for certain days requiring people to take days off without pay (unless you chose to use a vacation day). On top of this, Skeeter's truck died, we've had to replace flat tires, etc. Through it all, it has been neat to see how God has provided for our family when we didn't know if we were going to have enough money to pay the bills.   Not only did God provide extra food, a "new to us" truck through a friend, He has provided more photo shoot opportunities for me. Thankfully, we received word yesterday that not only will he be working 10 hour days, but he will also start needing to work on Saturdays.  This is a huge praise and will be a great help if there are extra expenses with Jonathan's speech therapy.  God is faithful and we knew He would provide, but we just didn't know how!
