Thank you to all who prayed for us. I received a call from our social worker today that the birth mother we had been waiting on chose US! I can't describe all the emotions and thoughts that started running through my mind. In fact, I had started daydreaming about cuddling our new baby! I got as much information as I could about the birth mother and then had to wait to reach Skeeter so that we could decide today if we would want to proceed with this case.
After Skeeter and I talked, we decided that this was NOT the case for us. So with tears and disappointment we wait, knowing that God has a much better plan for us and our family! Thank you for all of your encouraging words for us!
The Lord has blessed our family with four beautiful children. Two of our children joined our family through the precious gift of adoption. The purpose of this blog will be to share with you any prayer requests or new and exciting adventures on which the Lord may take us as a family. Of course any updates on any of our children will also be posted! Thank you for continuing to follow our family and support us in prayer.
Children are a gift from the LORD; they are a reward from him. Psalm 127:3

Next Step?
I was finally able to reach our social worker this morning to get an update on the birth mother from Topeka. Our social worker had not been able to actually meet with her (who is in jail), but she had sent her a some profiles to look at. Out of the ones she has seen so far, our profile is at the top of the list. She has however, requested a face to face meeting with our social worker to confirm plans and would like to see a few more profiles just to make sure. This meeting should take place either Wednesday or Thursday. So I hope to reconnect with our social worker on Thursday to see how the meeting went.
No matter what happens, I am so happy that this birth mother is being so careful about who she chooses. It shows me that she truly cares for her unborn child.
I had also asked you to pray about the writing of our home study. That has not yet happened, but she hopes this week?!
Thank you for continuing to pray!

Prayer Request for the Week
Thank you to so many of you who have been praying with us in our adoption journey. Several have been asking if we've heard anything - - well, it has been a time of waiting. The birth mothers that we have been hearing about have been literally disappearing. We are praying for clear answers and direction from the Lord, but at times are wondering why it is taking so long to get a yes! God's timing is perfect and I know I MUST WAIT on HIM and HIS TIMING.
I spoke with our social worker this morning and one of the birth mothers who disappeared has re-appeared. She is in Topeka and unfortunately for her, was re-arrested. I feel for this mother who is obviously looking for something! :( She is due to have a c-section on February 7, with a mixed race boy. Our social worker is hoping to meet with her this week, so I am to call her again on Friday to see if there have been any developments in this case.
This case, if it would be the Lord's will, would be awesome to work with from the legal side. Since she is in Kansas, we would be able to take the baby from the hospital instead of having to wait until court like we did with Adia. Also, with her being in jail/prison, we wouldn't have to worry about her being able to change her mind and take the baby. The only thing I don't know is whether or not there would be an issue with the birth father.
There are 2 big prayer requests for this week:
1. The birth mother will be presented several portfolios of adoptive families, including ours - - pray for clear direction in that area and pray for her as she makes this important decision.
2. That our adoption agency will get our formal home study typed up and be ready to present - - they have all of our information but need to get it typed and all in "one place" so to speak if we are going to be ready to "fly" with an adoptive child.
If this child does not work out, we have talked with our social worker about networking out to expand our search. She had noticed online that an AA was due with a boy on Feb. 20, but because our homestudy wasn't ready to be presented, we can't pursue that case at this time.
Thanks for praying and we are praying that God will bring along the right child for our family in His time. I am so thrilled that our children are praying for a baby brother, without being prompted. This at times, encourages this waiting mommy to keep hope.
