Day 3 - Tomorrow is the BIG Day!

Skeeter called this morning and said that the group is having a wonderful time!  Last night they were able to enjoy relaxing at the beach (Skeeter enjoyed riding the waves).  Skeeter also found out that fish tacos are pretty yummy!

Skeeter also mentioned that while he was eating his fish tacos that a news reporter sat down at his table. She is covering the story of the immigration problem at the border.  She mentioned that Mexico has dug a tunnel underneath the border so that vehicles can carry immigrants into the United States.  We had heard about some trouble at the border but we didn't know about this (perhaps we are just a bit slow in catching the news :/ ).

Tomorrow is the BIG day!  Tomorrow morning they will leave California and head to Tijuana, Mexico. Tijuana is about an hour or so from where they are staying in California, and is 2 hours behind us.  So tomorrow they will depart at 8:00 a.m., for Mexico, while it will be 10:00 a.m. here.  Please pray for safety as they cross the border and that the process will go smoothly.  From what I understand, Tijuana, is known for drugs, so the ministry opportunity will be huge!  They have been told to expect hundreds of kids to attend this VBS/Carnival (at 2:30 p.m., their time, 4:30 p.m. our time).  We pray that many children will learn about Jesus and that they will continue to attend the church there in Tijuana once the team leaves.

I know when I went on a missions trip to Mexico I went with the mindset of ministering to the people there. It ended up that they ministered to me just as much!  Praying for a week full of spiritual growth for the team and that many will hear about the love Jesus has for them and become a part of His family.
