Missions Trip Begins Tomorrow

Tomorrow is the big day!  It seemed so far away when the planning first began and now it is here!  Skeeter, along with approximately 11 other people, will depart from our church around 3:45 a.m., July 4.  What an early start!  They will take a bus to Wichita and then fly to California.  They will spend a couple of days in California, getting in some sight seeing as well as visiting with the church they will be working with in Mexico. The group will then leave for Mexico on Monday morning.  If the Lord brings this group to mind, you can pray specifically around 2:30 p.m., Monday - Wednesday, as this is when they will be doing a children's carnival, which will include a gospel skit, music, water slide, snacks, balloon animals, face painting, etc. There will be other times throughout the day that they will be ministering in the neighborhood spending time building relationships with the kids.  It sounds like there will be some other work projects that they will do as well.  Then on Thursday, they will have the carnival at 10:30 a.m., followed by a finale so to speak at 7:00 p.m.  This will include: preaching, snow cones, wordless drama, music, slides, etc.  Please be in prayer for the leaders as they prepare the lessons, that Jesus would speak through them and that they will share what He wants them to share.  Also please be in prayer for the children who will attend, that Jesus will already be working in their hearts to soften them to be ready to accept the gift of salvation.

Then on Friday, they will return to California.  The team should arrive back in Wichita on Saturday, around 11:30 p.m., and then arrive back in Hutchinson around 1:00 a.m., on Sunday, July 13.  They will get a few hours of sleep and then head to Sunday School and church (10:45 a.m.) where the team will share how Jesus worked during their missions trip.

Please pray for strength, safety, good health, wisdom and that the trip will bring the team closer together as well as closer to Jesus.  Pray for Skeeter as he is headed into the trip already exhausted.  His job switched him to another location yesterday which is more physical labor than where he had been, and just about every muscle in his body is sore.

I don't know how many updates I will receive while they are gone, but I will do my best to pass along any updates that I can so that you can see how God is answering prayers!

Please be in prayer for me as I become a "single parent" for 10 days!  Pray that I will have the wisdom and strength that I will need to keep things running smoothly.  It seems like whenever Skeeter is gone, something breaks down, so we pray nothing happens this time. :)

Now to see if I can get Jaydon to sleep....3:00 a.m., is going to come awful quickly! :/
